Electrical Field Service Engineer

The Opportunity

We're partnering with a leading UK & Ireland EV charging infrastructure and grid connections contractor to appoint an Electrical Field Service Engineer based in Belfast, covering EV charge point projects across Ireland. You'll take ownership of the electrical installation, commissioning and maintenance of EV charge points — from AC units through to high-power DC rapid chargers. It's a genuinely autonomous, field-based role: your van, your patch, your standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Install electric vehicle charging stations across projects in Ireland.
• Follow work instructions, electrical designs, cable calculations and installation guides to correctly install chargers from a range of manufacturers.
• Liaise with the Supervisor and provide project updates.
• Work to site-specific Programmes of Work and follow all safety protocols.
• Complete Electrical Installation Certificates on a tablet device.
• Maintain accurate records of installations, maintenance and repairs.
• Prepare and submit reports on work performed.
• Work closely with project managers and wider team members.
• Support maintenance contracts through routine and preventive maintenance.

Essential Requirements

• FETAC / Level 6 qualification in electrical installation, a recognised equivalent, or comparable City & Guilds / European standard qualification.
• Practical electrical experience and familiarity with the National Rules for Electrical Installations (I.S. 10101).
• Irish SafePass or equivalent.
• Proven experience in electrical installations, ideally within EV charging or renewable energy.
• Proficiency diagnosing and repairing both electrical and software-based systems.
• Full, clean B category driving licence.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
• A proactive, self-motivated approach.

Desirable

• Experience with DC chargers from 50kW up to 400kW DC.
• QQI Level 6 Electrical Testing & Verification.
• Safe Electric — Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging course.
